Extra time in the store
"Before Tilroy, revenue was passed on in Excel and there was a cash book. That feels like ages ago, even though we only switched fairly recently," says Armand. "A cash count took about 30 to 45 minutes back then and was very error prone. In Tilroy it never takes longer than 5 minutes and employees now have extra time to tidy up the store for the next day. We have also made huge strides in many other areas. As an organisation we became more professional in one go with Tilroy, and all our employees were immediately familiar with the system."
Easily from analogue to digital
"Kringwinkels also fulfil a social role and we teach our employees to go digital and work with computers and smartphones. So Tilroy plays an important role here. Although our employees came from analogue to digital, everyone received Tilroy really well. That has a lot to do with the fact that Tilroy is so intuitive, which by the way is also one of the reasons we chose Tilroy," Armand explains.
Everyone is on board right away
"Tilroy came by once for a hands on training for our employees and since then we do that from the stores ourselves. Everyone was immediately familiar with the new system. The icons for the categories are fantastic, which means people whose Dutch is not yet very good can get going right away. And if we do run into something, we can always count on Tilroy's customer success team, who solve everything with great patience."
The checkout is now part of the customer journey
"The store concept in Ostend is where we increasingly want to go," Armand continues. "From the moment customers step into the store, we take them along in our story. Throughout the store we reinforce that with personalised music, digital signage and Tilroy's point of sale with customer display. You no longer just pass by the checkout. It has become a full touchpoint in our stores, where the bond with our customers and the concept are strengthened further," Armand stresses.
Stronger and stronger as one brand
"The Kringwinkels have built a great name in recent years, and if we want to build on that and stay ahead in our sector, we not only have to digitalise, but also professionalise and invest in the store experience. Preferably together. For communication and image, like the Kringwinkel website, everything is already streamlined under the Kringwinkel umbrella. But there are still many things each Kringwinkel does in its own way. In an ideal world everything becomes more streamlined, so the sector can present itself even more strongly as one brand. That uniformity makes us more professional as an organisation and will cause less confusion for customers."
